Description

Snorkel Balaclava is built as a warm addition to your quilt or sleep system for sub-freezing nights. It protects head, neck, and face while keeping weight and packed size low.

Breathing tube is made from Climashield Apex and mesh. It helps mix and warm incoming air before you breathe it in, which makes cold-weather breathing more comfortable. Tube can also be tightened into a more closed mask shape for better protection while still allowing moisture to escape.

Whether open or tightened, tube keeps its shape and stays off your face better than a buff or fleece balaclava. It can also be tucked inside when not needed, making hood comfortable both for sleeping and for active use around camp.

Insulated with premium 900+ fill power goose down, hood provides high warmth with low weight and bulk.

I hike a LOT. Like 13 Thru-hikes a lot. This exactly what I have been looking for. It’s very warm, and adjustable in a lot of different configurations. You can keep it like a normal hood, or tuck the snorkel part around your mouth, or over your nose if it’s really cold while you hike. And for sleeping put the snorkel just open enough for your mouth, or wider for your mouth and nose. The adjust-ability is really great. It’s about as stuffed full of down as I’ve seen any piece of down equipment, and the material itself is soft.
Now, you may look like a 1920’s deep sea diver or astronaut. (It’s quite puffy!) But goofy looking hiking gear is fun. And as far as intended purpose (Keeping you warm) it’s awesome!

Just received this item for use with my sleeping bag in the Arctic For February 2026. The build quality is excellent and the warmth just testing it in November UK is superb. The snorkel effect is what I wanted while sleeping so this has the feature. The hood is well stitched for sure so should last the course easily. Plenty space around the head and extends down the neck just right. So if your looking at snorkel sleeping bags then ships is likely a great addition to a good sleep in extremely cold conditions . Very IMPRESSED SO FAR.
